Perch

Yesterday I headed into San Francisco to visit a lovely shop called Perch.  I've seen the shop mentioned in Sunset magazine and on sfgirlbybay and have always wanted to stop by.  I especially loved these oil and vinegar bottles by tonfisk...

...and these fantastic salt and pepper shakers, also by tonfisk.  These two came home with me and live very happily on my dining room table now.  I'm happy to announce that not only did I bring some things home with me, but I also left some Inklore goods at the shop.  I'm so excited to have my work in such a lovely shop!

Make sure to Perch next time you're in San Francisco.

I may have to stop by the freshie & zero booth this weekend to pick up some new earrings.  I have a bit of an obsession with earrings, especially simple, beautifully made pairs like these.

New: The Hydrangea Tea Towel

The hydrangea in my yard inspired me to make a few hydrangea tea towels, the perfect way to bring some summer into your kitchen.

And, I finally put together a page for Inklore on facebook; I'd love for you to become a fan.  I'm planning to have a few sales just for facebook fans each year, so don't miss out!

Go for a Visit

We're headed out of town today, and there's no time to take photos, so I thought I'd pop in and remind you to head to Scoutie Girl each Thursday afternoon to see what I pounced and found.  Pounce is a feature on Etsy that you can use to find brand new shops with no sales.  I'm still amazed each week at all the new talent.  Enjoy!

The Long Weekend

photo from Sunday Suppers via decor8

Looking forward to a relaxing long weekend, hopefully with a lovely meal tucked in like the one shown above.  Before I start to relax though, there are photos of new things to take, new things to finish making, and the Inklore Catalog to proof.  I can't wait to share it all with you next week.
                                   Have a lovely weekend!

Mark Your Calendar

I'm so excited to announce that I will be sharing a booth with InvitaPaperStudio at Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco July 18-19.  I know it sounds like a long time from now, but I'm determined to work a little each week rather than work the marathon session like I did for my first craft fair.  If you live in the area, mark your calendar!

Displayed

I'm happy to be home and rested from my first craft fair.  I'd say the pre-craft fair days were a success.  I'm happy with my display and worked hard to have inventory for the first time.  The fair itself turned out not to be so much a craft fair as a paper arts and supplies fair, so the few people who were there weren't really shopping for housewares and accessories.  I've decided in the future to either attend an event before participating, or only do events with a long history and good reputation for crafters.

I do love the way the booth turned out though.  You might notice a few new items/colors in there and for the rest of the week I'll be sharing some of those new items.

I also want to say a big thank-you to my sweet husband who helped me with my set up!

Getting Ready

Have I told you yet that I'm going to be in a craft fair for the first time?  It's coming up quite soon now, at the beginning of May and in order to get ready I've been scouring the internet for photos of craft fair booths...for inspiration.  Here are a few that have caught my eye:

Love this ladder by SkinnyLaminx.

I think syko does a great job here of adding interest to her table.

And I adore this set-up by Cakehouse.  It's so visually clean and interesting.

I haven't nailed down exactly what I'm doing for my display yet, but I've got some basic things decided.  Wish me luck!

Making It

I'm delighted to be a contributor to the new Making It series that Marichelle is doing on HeartHandmade.  There are three small business owners, including myself, who will be sharing ideas on how to create a successful business.  My first post was about putting together a press kit.  The series will be a great for anyone just starting out, and there will be some good information for even the seasoned small business owner, like the first post which was all about Twitter.  You should also definitely check out Jena's new blog, Modish Biz Tips, which will be full of new ideas for the small business owner each day.

Handmade Artists

I popped in to the new Poppytalk Handmade Artists blog last night to introduce my collection of pillows.  The newest one is loop.  These three pillows were sketched in my notebook ages ago and it's so fun for me to see them all finished.  The Poppytalk Handmade Artists blog is a great place to see what all of the fantastic artists of Poppytalk Handmade are up to.  It's definitely one to bookmark.
